Eyelash extensions before and after at Soulu in Edgewater, NJ, with fuller, longer lashes on the right

How much do eyelash extensions cost in New Jersey, how long do they last and how often do you need a refill? At Soulu, a full set costs $200 for Natural and $275 for Glamour, refills start at $120, and most clients come back every 2–3 weeks. Every set is done by an experienced lash artist at our studio on River Road in Edgewater, NJ.

The prices, timings and advice in this guide come from everyday work in our lash room. It covers what affects the price, how to choose between a Natural and a Glamour set, what happens at the appointment, how long extensions last and how to care for them. For photos, prices and booking, see eyelash extensions in Edgewater, NJ.

How Much Are Eyelash Extensions? Prices at Soulu

Service Price at Soulu
Natural Eyelash Extensions, full set $200
Glamour Eyelash Extensions, full set $275
Natural refill, within 2 weeks $120
Glamour refill, within 2 weeks $145
Natural refill, within 3 weeks $150
Glamour refill, within 3 weeks $175
Natural refill, within 4 weeks $180
Glamour refill, within 4 weeks $210

The sooner you come back, the less a refill costs, because fewer extensions need replacing. A 4-week refill is possible only if enough extensions remain; otherwise you will need a new full set. You can also pay over time with Affirm.

What affects the price of eyelash extensions? The fullness of the set (more extensions take more time), how long since your last refill, and the experience of the artist. Cheaper sets usually mean less time per eye, and that shows in how long the lashes last.

Natural vs Glamour Lash Extensions: Which Set to Choose

Natural Glamour
Look Soft, light, like your own lashes on a good day Fuller, darker and more dramatic
Length and volume Subtle length and definition Extra length and volume
Best for Everyday wear, office, gym, first-time clients Clients who love mascara or false lashes, events, photos
Full set $200 $275
Refill (2 weeks) $120 $145

Other salons often sell classic, hybrid and volume sets. We name our sets by the result you will see instead. Your lash artist looks at your natural lashes and chooses the technique, length and curl that give you that result safely.

Not sure? Start with Natural. Many clients who think they want a dramatic look find that a natural set already looks like mascara, and it is easy to go fuller at a refill.

Eyelash Extensions for Your Eye Shape

A good set is designed for your eyes, not copied from a photo. At the start of the appointment your lash artist checks your eye shape and natural lashes and adjusts length and curl:

  • Hooded eyes: a stronger curl lifts the lashes out from under the lid so they don't disappear when your eyes are open.
  • Almond eyes: most styles suit them; length is usually added toward the outer corners for a lifted look.
  • Small or close-set eyes: longer lashes in the middle open the eye; very heavy outer corners can make eyes look smaller.
  • Straight or downward lashes, common with Asian eyes and monolids: the right curl makes extensions visible and keeps them from pointing down.
  • Sensitive eyes: tell us when you book. We keep your eyes closed the whole time, and you can take breaks.

What Happens at Your Eyelash Extension Appointment

  1. Come without eye makeup, or we will remove it gently. Clean, oil-free lashes help the extensions hold.
  2. Choose your look: your artist asks what you want, checks your natural lashes and suggests length and curl.
  3. Relax with your eyes closed: you lie down, and your lower lashes are covered with a soft pad.
  4. The set is applied: each extension is attached to a single natural lash, never to the skin, so your lashes keep growing and shedding normally. Plan for about two hours for a full set. Refills are shorter.
  5. Check and tips: you look in the mirror, and we go over aftercare and when to book your refill.

It doesn't hurt. Most clients just rest or fall asleep.

How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Last?

Extensions stay on until the natural lash they are attached to falls out. Everyone loses a few natural lashes every day, so a set gradually thins out. That is why most clients come back for a refill every 2–3 weeks, which keeps the lashes looking full all the time.

How long the first set looks fresh depends on:

  • aftercare, especially the first 24 hours and avoiding oil near the eyes;
  • your natural lash cycle, which varies from person to person and with the season;
  • habits: rubbing your eyes, sleeping face down or picking at lashes shortens their life.

If you stop refilling, the extensions simply fall out with your natural lashes over a few weeks. You don't need a removal unless you want them off sooner; in that case, ask us rather than pulling them off.

How Often Should You Get a Lash Refill?

  • Every 2 weeks: the fullest look all the time and the lowest refill price.
  • Every 3 weeks: the most popular choice; lashes stay full with a small gap before the refill.
  • Every 4 weeks: possible if enough extensions remain. After a month many have shed, and a new full set may be needed.

Are Eyelash Extensions Bad for Your Natural Lashes?

Applied correctly, extensions do not damage your natural lashes. The important things are that every extension sits on one natural lash, and that the length and thickness suit the strength of your lashes. Too heavy a set or lashes glued together can stress them.

Things to know before booking:

  • Tell us if you have sensitive eyes, allergies, dry eyes or have reacted to lash adhesive before.
  • If you have an eye infection, irritation or recent eye surgery, wait until your eyes have recovered and your doctor says it is fine.
  • If you are pregnant, check with your doctor first.
  • Never pull extensions off. Picking takes natural lashes with them and is the most common reason lashes look thin.

Eyelash Extension Aftercare

First 24 hours:

  • keep lashes dry: no steam, sauna, hot yoga or long hot showers;
  • don't rub your eyes or sleep face down.

Every day after that:

  • brush the lashes gently with a clean spoolie in the morning;
  • wash them with a lash-safe, oil-free cleanser a few times a week;
  • use oil-free makeup remover, skincare and eye cream around the eyes;
  • skip mascara on the extensions, and never use a lash curler;
  • sleep on your back or side if you can, ideally on a silk pillowcase.

Most clients find their morning routine gets shorter: no mascara, no curler, no false lashes.

Lash Extensions vs Lash Lift vs Permanent Eyeliner

Eyelash extensions Lash lamination Permanent eyeliner
What it does Adds length and volume Lifts and curls your own lashes Defines the lash line with pigment
Lasts With refills every 2–3 weeks About 6–8 weeks 1–2 years
Best for Visibly longer, fuller lashes Good natural length that points down No smudged eyeliner, lashes look thicker at the base
Price at Soulu From $200 $125 From $400

Lash lamination works only with what you already have, so it is a good choice if your lashes are long but straight. Many clients combine extensions with permanent eyeliner: the line makes lashes look denser at the base. Compare liner styles in permanent eyeliner styles.

Eyelash Extensions Before a Wedding or Vacation

Book your full set 2–4 days before the event. The adhesive is fully set by then, and lashes are at their fullest. For a first set before a wedding, try a set a few weeks earlier so you know which look you like. Planning more for the big day? See permanent makeup before your wedding.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much are eyelash extensions in NJ?

At Soulu in Edgewater, a Natural full set is $200 and a Glamour full set is $275. Refills cost $120–$210 depending on the set and how many weeks have passed.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

Extensions fall out together with your natural lashes, so a set gradually thins out over a few weeks. Most clients keep them full with a refill every 2–3 weeks.

How often do I need a lash refill?

Every 2–3 weeks. A refill within 4 weeks is possible if enough extensions remain; otherwise a new full set is needed.

Do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?

Not when they are applied correctly: one extension per natural lash, with a length and weight your lashes can hold. Picking or pulling extensions off is what damages lashes.

What is the difference between Natural and Glamour lashes?

Natural adds soft length and definition that looks like your own lashes. Glamour adds extra length and volume for a fuller, more dramatic look.

Do eyelash extensions hurt?

No. You lie down with your eyes closed the whole time, and the extensions are attached to your lashes, not your skin. Most clients relax or fall asleep.

Can I wear mascara with eyelash extensions?

It isn't needed and isn't recommended: mascara and its removers shorten the life of the set. Use oil-free products around the eyes.
